Privacy policy
Sugarloaf Basecamp is an independently owned vacation rental. This page explains what we collect when you use sugarloafbasecamp.com and what we do with it. Short version: we collect what's needed to host you, we don't sell it, and payment details never touch our servers.
What we collect
- Booking details — name, email, phone, party size, stay dates, and any messages you send us. Kept so we can host you, handle taxes, and keep records of stays.
- Payments — processed entirely by Stripe. We see the amount and payment status, never your card number. Stripe's own privacy policy applies to the checkout page.
- Cookies — a session cookie if you log in as the owner, a preference cookie for the winter/summer toggle, and first-party analytics cookies (
slb_vid,slb_attr) that remember how you found the site (for example, from an ad or a search) so we know which marketing works. These are our cookies; we don't run third-party trackers or sell data to ad networks.
Emails
We send transactional email only — booking confirmations, host messages, and arrival details — through Resend, our email provider. No marketing lists, no newsletters unless you explicitly ask for one.
Sharing
We share data only with the services that operate the site (Stripe for payments, Resend for email, our hosting provider) and when the law requires it (for example, Maine lodging-tax records). We never sell personal information.
Retention & your rights
Booking records are retained for tax and accounting purposes. Analytics cookies expire on their own within a year. You can ask us anytime to see or delete the personal data we hold about you — message us from your trip page or reply to any booking email, and we'll handle it promptly (subject to records we're legally required to keep).
